Who we are

Sun Voyager is the trading name of the estate at Averøy, Norway, which operates this website. In the sense of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act (Personopplysningsloven), the estate is the data controller for the personal data collected through this site. What we collect, and why

We collect personal data only when you write to us. The enquiry form on our site invites you to send your name, email address, arrival date, number of nights and guests, and a short note to the house. We use that information solely to answer your enquiry and, where appropriate, to arrange your stay. The lawful basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where a stay is being arranged, the performance of a pre-contractual step at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Cookies

The site sets essential cookies necessary for the age confirmation and the cookie consent choice to be remembered. With your consent, we may also set optional analytics cookies to understand which pages are read and how the site performs. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site. See our Cookie Policy for the specific cookies used and their duration.

How long we keep your data

Enquiries are kept for twelve months from the date of your last contact with the house, and then deleted. If a stay has been arranged, the record of that stay is kept for a further period as required by Norwegian accounting law, after which it is likewise deleted.

Your rights

Under GDPR Articles 13 through 22, you have the right to be informed of the processing of your personal data, to access it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased where the lawful basis permits, to restrict or object to the processing, and to data portability. You have the right to withdraw a consent you have previously given, with effect for the future. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe your rights have been infringed.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertising networks. Personal data collected through this site is processed within the European Economic Area. We share personal data with a service provider only where it is necessary to answer your enquiry, and in each case under a written processing agreement.

Security

We keep enquiry records on systems with access controls appropriate to the small scale of the house, and we review those controls annually.
